Who he was
1205–1275 13th-century Portuguese warrior
D. Paio Peres Correia was a Portuguese warrior who played an important role in the thirteenth-century Reconquista. He was born c. 1205, in Monte de Fralães, a civil parish in the municipality of Barcelos. While still quite young, he travelled to Uclés, the headquarters of the Order of Santiago in the Kingdom of Castile.
