Rodrigo Caballero y Llanes
1663–1750
Rodrigo Caballero e Yllanes was a Spanish soldier and official who served as the first intendant general of Philip V’s army and sat on his Council of War. Along with Cardinal Alberoni and the secretary Patiño, Marshal Caballero was one of the leading figures of Spanish military policy during Philip V’s first reign, both in its turn towards the Italian wars and in the creation of the system of intendancies.
