Juan Maldonado (conquistador)
1525–1572
Juan Maldonado y Ordóñez de Villaquirán was a Spanish soldier, conquistador and explorer during the conquest of South America. He was the second son of Rodrigo Maldonado, known as “the Fat”, third lord of Linejo and Torrecilla, and of Beatriz Ordóñez de Villaquirán, from Zamora.
